Chinese OEM Coolpad (India based) has just launched a new budget smartphone handset, the Coolpad Note 5.
The Coolpad Note 5 is billed to be a rival to the likes of Moto G4 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi Note and Lenovo Vibe K5 Note.
The coolpad note 5 has a metal unibody design and a 2.5D curved glass on top of a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor and features 32GB internal storage (expandable through microSD) and a cool 4GB RAM.
Camera wise, it impresses with a 13MP back camera with LED flash and a 8MP selfie shooter (also with LED flash).

The coolpad note 5 comes with Android 6.0 (marshmallow) out-of-the-box – alongside CoolUI, supports 4G (with VoLTE), features a fingerprint scanner as well as OTG support.
It carries a 4010mAh monster battery which supports the handy “quick charge” feature.
For a budget smartphone, the coolpad note 5 carries some cool features and specifications though I think the target market might just feel more comfortable going for a known brand.
